Hidden Lake Sub Committee Report

Members of the Committee: Joel Grosso, Bernie Bires, Anna Marie Zambriczki, Kathy Kelly, and Sue Sutton. Also present at the meeting were residence that lived around the Park.

Challenge presented by Supervisor, Scott Harp;

"Determine the future use of Hidden Lake Park"

The following concerns were discussed.

  1. Lack of parking.
  2. Can it be easily patrolled?
  3. How many Local, County, State, and Federal Agencies would we have to deal with in order to develop the land?
  4. More importantly can flood plains be developed?
  5. How do we keep ATVs out of the park?
  6. How much money would be needed to conduct the proper studies. (Parking, traffic, environmental ECT.)

After discussing these issues, we the Sub Committee unanimously agree to the following;

  1. Hidden Lake Park should be left in its natural environment. Only routine maintenance should be performed on the property. It's a great recreational area for both hiking and fishing.
  2. The flat land to be developed is designated flood plain thus should be left alone.
  3. The lack of parking would intrude on the Sutton and Marshall properties, which run along side the entrance to the park. Leave parking alone.
  4. Any improvements to the exiting parking area may draw attention to the park thus agitating the parking situation further.

  5. Post ban of ATVs
  6. Conduct a minimal cleanup on a regular basis throughout the year. This would e a great project for youth groups to clean trash, sticks, and trail encroachment.
