None.
Disposition of
American Flags for Winter
Mr. Lombardi said he had thought the flags could come down for the
winter, but had received feedback from American Legion members who felt the
flags should remain flying while the country was at war; Mr. Ward said he had
heard the same opinion. Ms. Vittoriano
suggested that this reason for keeping the flags out should be mentioned in the
press. It was noted that there are
additional places on the streetlight poles to hang other items, such as a
wreath, flowers or banners. Mr.
Lombardi said there were extra flag brackets that had come with the flags; Mr.
Wilson suggested that they be sold.
Details for the
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The committee brainstormed possible
invitees for the ceremony. It was
suggested that the ceremony take place at 11:00 am on a weekday sometime in the
first two weeks of December. Mr.
Lombardi suggested that the ribbon cutting be done at the new stone wall near
Goodnoe’s. Mr. Wilson said he might be
able to put up a tent for the occasion.
Mr. Lombardi said that Mr. Pellegrino was looking into some kind of
reception to accompany the occasion.
Ms. Dunleavy volunteered to help design an invitation.
MISCELLANEOUS
Mr. Thomas said he was still waiting for additional dirt at his
site. He said business was up at the
Carriage House due to greater pedestrian traffic; Ms. Vittoriano noted her
business had also increased. The committee
complimented Mr. Shaffer on the brick walls at Stockburger’s. Mr. Shaffer said that the planting beds
needed attention; Mr. Lombardi noted that there is a maintenance contract for
12-18 months on the plantings. It was
suggested that the beds be “adopted” by businesses or organizations, who would
maintain the beds. It was suggested
that signs noting who was maintaining each bed could be installed. Mr. Thomas said he would take care of the
bed near his property, and Mr. Wilson said he would maintain the two beds at
the creek. Mr. Wilson offered to put
down weed preventative if the township purchased the appropriate material.
Next
Meetings: The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 13, 2005. Mr. Nelson invited the committee to a holiday
party hosted by Pennoni at Il Sol Tuscan Grill on Sycamore Street, to be held
immediately after the December meeting.
Without
objection, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
