May 2007- NESD responded to a dumpster fire in Newtown Commons 5/4/07. Crew arrived to find a 60 yd dumpster up against the building. A hose line was connected to a fire hydrant for a water supply. Crews extinguished the fire using foam application. Support team from Newtown Fire Association responded and assisted. Heavy equipment was called to remove the dumpster away from the building.
