The staff of the Newtown Emergency Services Department focus on fire safety extends into the community. Staff provides on site fire extinguisher training to small business's and organizations within the township.

The program is divided into two segments, classroom activity and hands on training and is flexible enough to provide one without the other. Classroom activity includes a brief lecture and 15 min video on fire extinguisher use. Hands on activities provide the use of an actual extinguisher.
