Complimentary Residential Safety Inspections
Newtown Emergency Services Department is always looking for ways to reach out to the community.
In 2006, the department will be offering a complimentary residential safety inspection. The inspections are available
Monday thru Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm by scheduling an appointment one day in advanced. You may contact the office at 215-968-2800 x255.
The primary purpose of the inspection is to assure homeowners and/or homebuyers that the property meets residential fire code requirements.
When an inspection is requested, the inspectors will check the following areas:

- Doors & Windows (operable)
|
|
|
- Gas Leaks & Shut Off Valves
|
|
|
Upon completion of the inspection the resident will be given an explanation of items found not in compliance,
and the recommendation corrections that may be necessary. At the completion of the inspection, the resident will be
given a packet of fire and home safety information for their review.
