Emergency News

Our fire prevention program is second to none when it comes to educating our school children. The end of September starts our program in the schools, and it typically continues through December. The program includes What a smoke detector does and how it operates, having an escape plan, knowing two ways out, calling 911 and what an emergency really is and for the older kids what the chemistry of fire is.

During Fire Prevention week this department hosts a community safety day with all of the emergency services involved. This program allows the public to view apparatus and personnel up close. We know that in the years to come our education program can only grow.

The following is a list of schools we visit through out the year:

  • Chandler Hall Day Care
  • Chesterbrook Academy
  • Childs World
  • Council Rock Jr. High
  • Goddard School
  • Early Learning Center
  • Kindercare
  • Goodnoe Elementary School
  • Newtown Elementary School
  • New Life Day Care
  • Shir-Ami
  • Newtown Presbyterian Day Care
  • St. Andrews Pre-School
  • St. Andrews Elementary School

*During the summer we also take the time to visit all of the camps offered by Newtown Township's Park and Recreation Department.

**Emergency Services Department can provide a series of safety training suggestions for your organization or business in Newtown Township and Newtown Borough.
